Beautiful place
Absolutely love The Royal Castle! The staff are so nice and friendly, bar area very well run, sunday lunch was superb, thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend, refurbishment is very tasteful and still has charm and character, we really missed you when you were closed!

lovely venue and dinner
We had dinner in the dinning room, beautiful room with lovely views of the harbour. The menu was simple but nice. The fish and chips in particular were a favorite. Will be coming back.

GREAT VIEW AMAZING FOOD BRILLIANT STAFF!
We have been three times this year for Sunday lunch the latest was on Easter Sunday. It was delicious and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The roast lamb and many vegetables was excellent and the sticky toffee pudding was the best I’ve ever had the sponge was so light. Beautiful location the restaurant is upstairs overlooking the view of the river. Good atmosphere.

Location, views, good food, music!
Decent food, great location. OH and I both had the excellent pies, served with proper vegetables – often hard to find on restaurant menus. Our waitress was lovely, even though working her socks off. Dinner was followed by an hour downstairs for the music – singer/guitarist, very good, and great fun. The hotel is quite a building! Would definitely return when next in Dartmouth.

An excellent birthday lunch!
My wife and I enjoyed an excellent lunch at the Royal Castle in celebration of my 75th birthday! The staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive and the food was excellent, the best fish and chips we have tasted in living memory! and very good value for money!! I would thoroughly recommend the Royal Castle. Thank you for helping make the day really memorable.

A very pleasant evening with friends
We had an enjoyable meal with friends in the recently refurbished upstairs restaurant. The food was nicely cooked and reasonably priced . The staff were very welcoming and attentive.
