“Can’t Fault lt!”

My Partner and I, Stayed here for 1 night on the celebration package. This was excellent value for money. We got 1 night Bed and Breakfast, A 3 Course Carvery Meal (evening meal in the restaurant) a bunch of hand tied flowers, some hand made chocolates and the pleasure of staying in a fantastic hotel. Right from arrival we were made to feel welcome with the friendly staff who checked us in an gave us a free upgrade to a river view room and parked our car. All of the staff gave the impression that nothing was too much to ask for. Excellent customer service. They even arranged to have homemade fudge and a card to be delivered to our room, for my partners Birthday.
The rooms are very comfortable and the river view was lovely, watching the boats, and people come and go around the Riverside was so relaxing. The location was great there where plenty of local shops to look around, boat trips up the Dart to go on, and plenty of chance to get fish and chips and a nice walk.
Our room was fitted with a lovely Jacuzzi p shaped bath, with really nice toiletries and robes. The room was decorated in a very boutique style with lots of cushions on the bed, tea & coffee making facilities, a hair dryer and anything else you could need.
Downstairs they had 2 bars and on the middle floor they had the restaurant. The 3 course evening meal was exceptionally good, we had scallops to start, then a Carvery for main with a choice of beef, lamb, turkey or pork, lashings of fresh veg and potatoes, for dessert bread and butter pudding. Again the staff here were very helpful and welcoming .Breakfast was excellent, I love a good breakfast, and this one was spot on.
I could go on gushing over this hotel with every detail, but i think i have said enough.
Yes I would visit this hotel again and yes without a shadow of doubt I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends. I would really struggle to find fault with this Hotel.

“First class”

Booked a Sunday night dinner, bed and breakfast deal. We couldnt fault a single thing. The room was beautiful with a four poster bed and jacuzzi bath and had a lovely view of St Saviours Church.
Our evening meal in the restaurant was impressive as was our breakfast the next morning. The staff were helpful and very friendly.
I have often had meals in the bar which have also been excellent and will definitely stay in this hotel again and highly recommend it.
The Royal Castle is now my favourite place to stay in my favourite town. I have been visiting Dartmouth for 42 years and cant believe it has taken me this long to finally stay in this wonderful hotel.

“Just love it”

This is a ‘quirky’ hotel run by a quirky owner whose personality rubs off on every aspect of the hotel including the staff, in a positive way. Don’t take quirky as being negative, far from it.

Our room was excellent, we had a court view room which sort of looks into the hotel centre/stairs. It was very clean and comfortable and had everything you would need.

Breakfast was superb with everything you’d need or want and was well cooked, to order.
The bar areas are excellent, in particular the galleon bar.

I’d thoroughly recommend eating here on an evening or afternoon as well, Good value (For Dartmouth), great choice and well prepared.

The staff are excellent, always have a smile and will always do their very best to accommodate.

Would I stay here again? Absolutely 100% YES
