The Restaurant
Nu, our first floor river view restaurant, is decorated in a classic contemporary style and is open to both residents and non residents for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Restaurant over looks the river and inner harbour and provides the ideal location for a romantic dinner, lunch with friends, private parties, or business gatherings.
Our seasonal menus demonstrate our support for the Taste of the West 'buy local' campaign. The Royal Castle Hotel was founder member of the South Hams Food and Drink Association. All of the meat served at the hotel is locally sourced and we our proud of the 100% traceability.
Special occasions
Private hire of the first floor dinning areas are available for parties from 20 - 70 people. Tailor made menus and attention to detail are what make Nu the perfect venue for birthday parties, wedding celebrations and anniversaries.
Dates for your diary...
On the last Thursday of every month we serve a traditional Indonesian menu, known as Rijstaffel. It is a chance to try a variety of authentic Indonesian foods, traditionally rijastaffel is a family meal, it is a set menu that contains 10 different dishes that are served with rice on a hot plate for all to share.

The Galleon and Harbour bars
Bars Open 8am ~ 11pm Daily
Home cooked bar meals served all day (until 10pm)
The harbour and galleon bars are two very different bars situated on the ground floor, the galleon bar is a traditional lounge bar with plenty of character and atmosphere, whilst the harbour bar is more contemporary and shows many live sporting events.
Curry Night every Tuesday from 6.30pm ~ 10pm in the Galleon lounge
Salt beef lunch every Saturday from
11.30am in the Galleon lounge
Traditional Sunday
roast from 11.30am ~ 10pm in The Galleon lounge & Harbour bar.
During the winter months we serve a traditional spit roast from an original lydstone range in the galleon bar.
