Welcome to our Christmas celebrations here at The Royal Castle Hotel - a particularly magical time of year with log fires, fine decorations and inspiring menus. We hope you will enjoy the next few days, all you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the festivities. The emphasis is on good food and service in a friendly relaxed atmosphere.
Thursday 23rd December
Once you have settled into your room and made yourself at home why not enjoy a cream tea in front of one of roaring log fires or, if you fancy something more active why not try Mr Way's annual treasure hunt to work up an appetite for dinner?
6.30pm A champagne reception and canapes will be served in the Galleon Bar which is an opportunity to meet the staff and your fellow guests before an informal five-course dinner in Nu restaurant served until 9.30pm.
Friday 24th December. Christmas Eve
7.30am-10.00am
Breakfast will be served in Nu or your room if you prefer. You then have the day to spend as you wish; its the perfect chance to do some last minute shopping or take an invigorating walk along the coastal footpath.
7.00pmMurder and intrigue...A five-course dinner in Nu restaurant is served and the famous Candelight Theatre Company present tonight'd festive murder mystery story 'The Choir'. Gather clues at the drinks reception, are you rubbing shoulders with a murderer?
11.20pm
If you would like to attend midnight mass please gather in the hotel foyer for a short walk to St. Saviour’s church. On your return mulled wine and mince pies will be served in front of the log fires. However, do make sure that you’re safely tucked up in bed before Father Christmas arrives!
Saturday 25th December. Christmas Day
8.30am-10.30am
Our Christmas Cracker Breakfast will be served in the Harbour Bar or your room, but be sure not to over-indulge as a sumptuous six-course Christmas feast will be served to you in the Nu restaurant from 12:15pm until 2:30pm. The afternoon is now yours, whether you fancy an after lunch snooze, a drink in front of the fire or if you’re feeling really energetic then what about a walk around the town?
7.30pm
A leisurely Christmas Buffet exclusively for the residents will be served in the Galleon Bar. Afterwards why not take part in our Castle Christmas Quiz with plenty of party poppers and hilarity.
Sunday 26th December. Boxing Day
8.30am-10.00am
Breakfast will be served in the restaurant or in your room. Also, if you wish to own a race horse to compete in the Royal Castle Races later today then this is your opportunity to make a purchase!
10.30am
If you fancy some fresh air, brace yourself for a trip up the river on board the Greenway Ferry exploring the river up to Dittisham and beyond. There is cover and heating on board the boat and mince pies and coffee will be available.
