Stayed for one night, single traveller, first time in the RC but have stayed many many times in Dartmouth, I am really glad I stayed here as this is an excellent hotel, a warm welcome from reception, valet parking and escort up to the room really is a first class service, room was a double, large enough and furnished in keeping with this historic hotel, very clean, tidy and fresh, can’t ask for more, air con worked well. Nice clean bathroom with robe, shower gels, fresh clean towels and a powerful enough shower. No view from my room but no matter, walk out the front door and are treated to the wonderful River Dart with all it’s bustling activity. Didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evening but breakfast sensational, full English was the best I have ever had in a hotel (including the Ritz in London) good quality and plentiful, this is included in the price or was with my rate and topped off a wonderful stay. To sum up; a first class hotel, well priced,

We have stayed here for romantic breaks, anniversaries and just because it is the first place we think of when we want to spoil ourselves! Perfect for couples (although I dare say that our children would love it if we ever gave them the chance to come with us…) Food in the bar is just as lovely as eating in the restaurant. Personal touches throughout make it special and the staff try to accommodate any reasonable request.  From the moment you step through the dooryou are made to fell welcome and at the end of a long trip it is great to have your car parked for you. So much to see/do you can happily leave your car and enjoy exploring on foot, by boat or even steam train! Coastal walks are lovely and the hotel can provide packed lunches. Breakfast delivered to your room is pure indulgance, sitting in your dressing gown, looking out over the river from the comfort of a cosy armchair…...time to book another stay before it gets too popular.

Wonderful location, having their own car park is a huge plus as parking in Dartmouth can be very difficult to find. The atmosphere and decor are very tasteful and old English with wood beams etc. The food is very good and very good value, staff are always courteous. Try the daily specials like the carvery, curry night etc. Nice selection of ales and beers. Have stayed here many times and have always had a very good stay.
